What
is Vitamin B1?
Vitamin B1 (otherwise called 'Thiamin') was the vitamin responsible for
preventing the disease 'Beriberi'. Beriberi was a disease rife throughout
Asia, brought on by eating a diet of refined, white rice, where all the
nutritional content of the outer layers of the rice was discarded.
