Athlete's Foot



What is Athlete’s foot?

Also known as tinea pedis, this is where the feet are affected. The inflammation can be severe and a secondary infection may develop.

How is it spread?

It is spread in swimming baths, saunas and showers.

What are the symptoms?

The main areas affected are between the toes and soles of the feet. There is redness, scaling, weeping and occasional blistering. It may spread to the hands, groin (tinea cruris) and perianal area.
