EPA
inhibits breast cancer growth
The Department of Pathology II
in Japan studied the effects of eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) and an
angiogenesis inhibitor (TNP-470) on breast cancer cell growth. The
experiments revealed that both EPA and TNP-470 inhibited the growht
of tumours.
The molecular biologist who
carried out the study was extremely reassured to discover that
nutrients such as EPA actually suppress cancer growth at a molecular
level and the scientists were all very optimistic about how this can
the therapeutic uses . He believes this will filter down into
patient care within the next five 5 years.
