What is Diarrhoea?
Diarrhoea is rather vaguely defined in most medical
dictionaries as frequent loose stools. It is only very rarely that diarrhoea is a disease
in itself, but rather a symptom of an underlying condition.

Known Causes
Causes include colitis (inflammation of the colon), crohn's
disease, food poisoning and viral infection in the intestines; stress, back problems,
medications (especially antibiotics), tumours, surgery, radiotherapy and chemotherapy,
stomach upset and allergies.
It is vitally important to isolate and identify the
possible causes in each individual case before selecting the most appropriate remedy. A
full physical examination by your health practitioner is therefore advisable in all cases
of persistent diarrhoea.
