Clear AcneFree Skin Without Ever Leaving Home

By: Kevin Nelson

With acne affecting nearly 90% of the population at least sometime in our lives, it's no surprise that there are a wide range of acne remedies available to choose from. Some people seek out the advice of a dermatologist and begin a regimen of prescription drugs to treat moderate to severe acne. Others use home remedies as their primary cure. Acne home remedies are an especially good solution for people who wish to avoid some of the possible side effects that come with stronger acne medications or people looking for a more cost-effective acne treatment.

Proper nutrition is critical for healthy skin just as it affects the rest of your body too. It's important to make sure your body receives the necessary vitamins and minerals needed to maintain your health, both for your body in general and for your skin in particular. In addition to basic healthy eating, you might also want to consider adding certain supplements to your diet, including vitamin B-complex, vitamin C and vitamin A. These vitamins in particular have been show to help maintain the vitality of the skin.

Keeping you skin nourished on the inside and clean on the outside is also important. This means you need to be sure to drink plenty of water. In addition, proper cleansing is an absolute must. Herbal facial cleansers used twice a day plus a good moisturizer should work just fine. This will help get rid of oil, sweat, and dirt that accumulates throughout the day. Don't overdo it though. Washing your face or other affected areas too much can actually aggravate your acne rather than treat it.

In addition to the treatments mentioned above, there are a few other home remedies you might want to consider. One of the most common acne home remedies popular today is colloidal silver. This acne treatment can be applied directly to the skin on affected area or, if desired, can be taken orally by mixing it with water, juice or other drinks.

Garlic has long been recognized as having several health benefits and as it turns out, there are some specific benefits from using garlic to treat acne. Specifically, garlic capsules can be taken in order to kill bacteria that cause acne. In addition, an added bonus effect is that it helps bolster your immune system. And don't worry, most garlic capsules are odorless, so you don't have to worry about ridding yourself of acne only to develop an equally embarrassing condition in the form of a persistent smell of garlic all the time.

Another popular source for acne home remedies is burdock root and dandelion root, two herbal acne remedies popular with some acne patients. Much like garlic capsules, they have properties that help kill acne-causing bacteria on the skin. In addition, they are also used to help the body eliminate toxins and other chemicals.

Lavender oil and tea tree oil are two other popular acne home remedies. These oils can be applied directly to the skin on affected areas. They help soothe the skin and get rid of a wide array of bacteria without harsh side effects.

It is important to note that all of these acne home remedies should be seen as dietary supplements rather than a first line of defense against any medical condition, including acne. However, many acne sufferers report good results after adding such home remedies to their acne-fighting regimen. You should consider giving some of these acne home remedies a try also and with any luck, you'll also see similar results.
