Get Rid of Acne Faster

By: John Gutenburg

Today we?ll be talking about the worst enemy of teenagers everywhere, acne. Acne is a condition of the epidermis that affects teenagers all over the world. Even children and adults can get acne, and all of its accompanying problems. No matter who gets it, the effects can be terrible. Your looks and self-esteem may be destroyed. The questions is, can acne be cured?

For millenia, cosmetics have been used to cover up acne. Unfortunately, covering up is not the same as eliminating. While cosmetics can be of some use, they are not a long term solution.

Today, acne can be fought with antibiotics that attack the acne-causing bacteria that actually lives in your skin. However, like all antibiotics, these can become ineffective over a long period of time as the bacteria become adapted to the antibiotics.

Realistically, the best way to fight acne is to visit a dermatologist. A dermatologist can diagnose your specific problem, and can design a personalized treatment program. Dermatologists are skin professionals that have in depth knowledge of the latest treatments that you may not even be aware of. Because acne is most easily cured in its early stages, a dermatologist should be consulted as early as acne is suspected.

However, there are some common sense tips you can follow to stay acne free. The first is to keep your face clean. If you are very oily you might have to wash three or four times a day. The second tip is avoid oily foods. Foods with oil or spice active your oil glands, which contribute to acne. Finally, eat lots of fresh fruit and vegetables.

Johan Gutenburg is a popular writer of articles on acne and pimples.
