How To Care For Your Acne Ridden Skin

By: Liam Char

If you have acne, then you will need to know how to properly look after your skin. Why? Because looking after your skin better will help reduce your acne, and improve your complexion.

So here are some tips to help you look after your skin if you are having problems with acne.

People with acne should gently wash their faces daily (once in the morning, in the evening and after heavy exercise) with a mild cleanser and a soft, clean cloth, as scrubbing with a rough scrub pads and using strong detergent soaps will only irritate acne and make it worse. You should ask your doctor which cleanser you should use on your skin to help your acne problem.

Try and resist the urge to pick and touch your face as this will cause the infection to spread around your face, making it harder to get rid of.

Carefully choose your cosmetics when you are treating acne, as some cosmetics are oil based which will block pores and cause acne to worsen. You must keep away from oil based cosmetics if you want your acne to improve.

Some of the treatments used to treat acne can make you prone to getting sunburnt much easier, which dries out your skin. Also, avoid tanning beds as this only makes the problem much worse. Having a sun tan will mask your acne to some extent, but it will not cure it. In the long run, it will make it worse.

Men who have an acne problem should shave more carefully so you do not damage the blemishes causing them to bleed. This leaves your skin open to much worse infections than acne and even scarring. Don?t press the razor too hard on your skin and only shave when necessary.

I hope these tips will help you look after your skin better, and reduce your acne.
