Alopecia Hair Loss Treatment Early Treatment Is Beneficial

By: Paul Cris

Losing hair to such an extent that the scalp is visible can be termed as baldness. Due to baldness people look older and less attractive at a young age. This leads to an emotional drawback and hampers your progress. Abnormal baldness happens due to a hair loss disease called alopecia. This condition can be treated with a method known as alopecia hair loss treatment.

Alopecia can be of three types and these are:

  • Androgenic alopecia
  • Alopecia areata
  • Postpartum alopecia

Genetic pattern, hormonal changes and age cause androgenic alopecia. This is the most common type of alopecia. Men are more prone to get androgenic alopecia than women. Male pattern baldness is another term for androgenic alopecia.

If the hair falls suddenly in patches, it is known as Alopecia areata. On the scalp or any other part of the body hair completely sheds and a shiny round shaped area appears, if you are afflicted with this disease.

During the pregnancy period sometimes women suffer temporary hair fall. This is called postpartum alopecia. After the baby is born, this problem disappears.

There are various types of treatments for alopecia. One of them is Propecia, which is hugely popular and sold all over the world. A male hormone DHT is mainly responsible for hair loss. The DHT imbalance is rectified when you use Propecia. The constant use of Propecia has shown positive results in 80% of the cases. Another medicine is Regaine. Regaine increases blood circulation on the head and stimulates the hair tissues to grow faster. There are other alternatives to treat alopecia that are surgical in nature. These alternatives are used when your alopecia does not respond to medicines and when regrowth of hair is not possible.
