Learn About the Vitamins for Hair Loss

Vitamins are vital for the overall health of a person. Most vitamins are important for the healthy growth of the body, while there are specific vitamins that help in hair growth and health.

One of the vitamins for hair loss is vitamin A which is an antioxidant that products healthy sebum on the scalp. You can find great sources of vitamin A in fish liver oil, milk, cabbage, apricots, meat, eggs, apricots, carrots and peaches. It is better to maintain a daily dose of 5,000 IU in day as more than 25,000 IU of vitamin A proves to be toxic and may instead, induce hair loss and some serious health problems.

Vitamin C is another of the vitamins for hair loss. It is basically an oxidant that helps you maintain the health of your skin and hair. The food sources where you can avail of vitamin C are green peppers, strawberries, cantaloupe, citrus fruits, tomatoes, pineapple, kiwi, dark green vegetables and potatoes. The daily dosage of vitamin C that is advisable for you is 60 mg.

Vitamin E is one of the vitamins for hair loss that when taken regularly, enhances scalp circulation. Its food sources are wheat germ oil, dried beans, cold-pressed vegetable oils, soybeans, leafy green vegetables and raw seeds and nuts. The daily dose of vitamin E is a maximum of 400 IU. However, if you intend to take any vitamin E supplements, you have to check with the doctor if you have blood pressure and are on blood pressure medication or anticoagulants. This is because vitamin E supplements may raise blood pressure and has a chance of reducing blood clotting.

Biotin is a vitamin that helps produce keratin that helps prevent the graying and the loss of hair. Biotin can be found in Brewer?s yeast, egg yolks, whole grains, rice, milk and liver. The daily dosage here is 150 ? 300 mcg. With a daily dosage of a maximum of 600 mg of Inositol, you can keep your hair follicles healthy. Your daily dose of Inositol is found in whole grains, liver, citrus fruits and brewer?s yeast.

With Niacin, you can promote your scalp circulation. Its food sources are brewer?s yeast, chicken, turkey, wheat germ, meat and fish. Its daily dose is 15 mg, and if you consume more than 25 mg of Niacin a day, you will experience ?niacin flush? which is a temporary heat sensation from blood cell dilation.

Another of the vitamins for hair loss is pantothenic acid, which is vitamin B5. It helps in preventing the graying and loss of hair. You can find your required amount of pantothenic acid in whole grain cereals, egg yolks, brewer?s yeast and organ?s meat. Limit your consumption to a daily dose of 4-7 mg. vitamins B6 and B12 are both vitamins for hair loss that helps prevent hair loss. It creates melanin that gives your hair its color. Its food sources are in chicken, fish, vegetables, eggs, milk and organ meats. Too much of vitamin B6 can lead to numbness in the hands and feet.

Don?t expect to see overnight changes in your hair growth on starting on vitamins good for hair loss. You need at least two to three months to realize the effects on starting vitamins for hair loss. So be patient and consistent in your vitamin program, and start it after consulting a doctor.
