Who are the Association of Light Touch Therapists (ALTT)

The Association was
founded in 1988 in order to promote therapies that can be termed light touch - all the gentle techniques which help the body to heal itself- and to speak for the many less well-known therapies that use touch techniques to re-align the subtle energy fields of the body.

ALLT is affiliated to the British Complementary Medicine Association (BCMA) - a multi-therapy umbrella body providing a central information point about Complementary Medicine for the public.

Therapists wishing to join ALTT must show a certificate of training and have Public Liability and Professional Indemnity insurance cover. ALTT encourages a compassionate attitude to clients and Members work to a Code of Conduct as laid down by the BCMA.

A register is available to the general public and a Newsletter is published to keep members in touch with each other and with legislation affecting practice. Some members are also trainers in their particular therapy, but the Association is not a training organisation.
