You've just discovered that you have a fungal infection in your nail. What do you do now? Fungal infections in the nails can be very difficult to cure. But don't lose hope. Continue reading to learn how you can successfully treat this annoying condition.

Even though fungal infections are more common in toe nails, the finger nails can be infected as well. There are currently a number of oral medications being prescribed as cures for fungal infections of the nails. The effectiveness of these medications ranges from 60 to 80 percent, however all of these medications come with significant warnings.

The current medications being prescribed for nail fungus may cause significant toxicity in the person being treated which can lead to liver damage. Also there is a long list of side effects from these medications including nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, diarrhea, rash, headache, taste disturbances and dizziness.

These warnings can make the common medically prescribed fungal treatments hard to swallow.

What should you do if you discover that you have a nail fungus? There are safe, inexpensive and natural cures for nail fungus. You can successfully treat your nail fungus at home very easily. Without the use of expensive and dangerous drugs. Without the harmful side effects. And without the worry of reinfection.

Here are some tips to help you keep your nails healthy and avoid reinfection.

1. Don't wear the same shoes each day. Give your shoes a chance to air out after each wearing.

2. Wear proper fitting shoes. Avoid wearing shoes that cause pressure on your toenails. Causing trauma to your nails can increase the chance that you could catch a fungal infection by causing damage to the nails.

3. Bring your own implements that have been properly sanitized when having manicuring services performed at a salon.

4. Avoid wearing nail polish or acrylic nails that seal the surface of you nails. These can trap moisture against you nails and prevent them from proper exposure to the air. Opt for a natural nail buffing instead.

5. Keep your finger and toenails clean and maintain them at a healthy length. excessively short or long nails can cause stress on the nail bed which can lead to injury. This can leave your nails open to fungal infections.

6. Use an antifungal powder in your shoes to help prevent fungus from remaining in your shoes which can reinfect your nails.

Remember it is possible to successfully cure your nail fungus with safe, natural cures. You can have healthy and attractive nails.

If you are tired of trying treatment after treatment for your nail fungus... and have searched high and low to find a cure, then I invite you to read my story, and learn how I cured myself forever of this embarrassing and annoying condition. Please visit http://fungusinmynail.blogspot.com/
