Don't make the mistake of confusing essential oils with perfume or fragrance oils. Most of the time, perfume or fragrance oils are created fragrances, and are made in a laboratory. Quality essential oils are only made from live plants. If you try to save money by using perfume or fragrance oils in your aromatherapy, you're going to be very disappointed. They don't contain any of the therapeutic benefits you receive from essential oils.
It's the actual chemical composition of the essential oil's aroma that provides the wonderful physical and emotional benefits that you want. You can choose how to access those benefits, with the general methods being to either inhale the essential oils, or applying them directly to the skin in combination with a carrier oil. Using essential oils properly helps you to heal your body and mind, and can give you a more relaxed feeling.
