Mercury although toxic, is a remedy used for
symptoms characterised by strong-smelling secretions, an aversion to hot
or cold, with many symptoms occurring in the mouth or throat.
The Mercury patient is hurried, restless and
anxious. Due to their insecurity, they are conservative and extremely
suspicious. They are forgetful and have a difficulty in relating their
answers. They are introverted and closed appearing detached and arrogant.
Being contradicted infuriates them to such a degree that they may feel
like killing the person.
Trembling and sweating are common which makes
them feel worse. All symptoms are worse at night.
Usually fair-haired, the skin of the Mercury
patient is usually translucent, smooth and unlined.
The weak areas of the body are the blood, mucous
membranes, salivary glands, liver and bones and joints. Mercury is
effective for mouth ulcers, oral thrush, gingivitis, tonsillitis, coughs,
glandular problems and conjunctivitis.
