Saturday Morning Musings A Very Good Read even if I do say so myself

During my morning ramblings ? sometimes I?m aware of my surroundings and sometimes - I?m caught up in the ?monkey-like chattering of the mind.?

This morning I was aware of;

? the cedar and pine perfume that infuses the atmosphere here on the Island of British Columbia.

? the depth of field that is available when we look into the distance and admire the majesty of the mountain peaks.

? the feeling of being part of the whole rather than a struggling, individual entity.

And so on my return home, I went to my library, picked a book from my meagre travelling library, opened it at random and began my readings - ?my musings for the day.?

To-day?s readings are taken from ?The Beauty of Friendship? by Kahlil Gibran

? The heart?s affections are divided
like the branches of the cedar tree;
if the tree loses one strong branch,
it will suffer but it does not die.
It will pour all its vitality
into the next branch so that it will grow
and fill the empty place.?

? Beautiful in it?s simplicity and mighty in it?s message.

In Natural Health and Natural Living we constantly draw on images from nature ? for it is only through natural law that each of us will attain to our true potential.

In the above poem, Gibran points out, in sequence;

1. The law of unity.

2. The law of conservation of energy.

3. The law of healing.

? The tree is a composite of all it?s parts and they all work together for the good of the whole.

? When under stress, the organism rests, conserves it?s energy and with an extra-ordinary effort?

? Goes about repairing itself

Are we less than the tree? - I think not!

We have within us the seeds for greatness.

With humility I suggest that we spend more time listening to the sounds of nature as she unfolds her secrets for health and happiness.
