Study after study has shown that drinking Chinese diet green tea and eating foods rich in polyphenol reduces the threat of many heart complications. Drinking Chinese diet green tea helps make stronger the blood vessels that supply oxygen and important nutrients to the heart and brain. It has been revealed that men who drink Chinese diet green tea have 75 percent fewer risks of having a stroke than people who don't drink Chinese diet green tea. Chinese diet green tea helps drop total cholesterol levels and improves the ratio linking LDL cholesterol and HDL cholesterol. Research shows that men who drink nine or more cups of Chinese diet green tea daily have lower cholesterol levels than men who drink fewer than two cups a day. Obesity has become one of the main health issues in our society today. In fact, more than half of the American population is fat or obese. As a result, diet and weight loss plans have grow to be ever more widespread.

But not all diet plans succeed. Not all of them are automatically harmless. Safer alternatives for people in need to lose weight are green tea diets. Green tea diets can be a possible treatment for obesity. The catechin polyphenols existing in green tea diets can slow down the response of gastric and pancreatic lipases in the body. These enzymes are the ones responsible for converting calories in the body into fats. By delaying these enzymes, green tea diets can as a result, prevent fat from being stored and avert obesity in people. Green tea further has the capacity to lower cholesterol levels and heighten the relation between good (HDL) cholesterol and bad (LDL) cholesterol. The EGCG in green tea can stop blood from forming irregular clots (thrombosis), a chief reason of heart attacks and strokes. Green tea has always been known to have a few health benefits, but who knew that it could add to weight loss as well? Recent reports published in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition explain that green tea extract can boost metabolism and fat oxidation of the body.

In theory, scientists think that the weight loss benefits of green tea extracts are because of their caffeine content. The outcome of the study revealed otherwise. They discovered that green tea extracts have weight loss benefits beyond that of caffeine. In their research, they gave the same amount of caffeine as that in green tea extracts but found that it did not make any sizable changes in the body's overall energy expenditure. This led them to decide that green tea extracts have ingredients in them that actively act with each other, promoting increased metabolism and fat oxidation. This process leads to weight loss. Added findings suggested that a certain compound found in green tea extracts might be the ingredient that causes weight loss. These green tea extract compounds called Flavonoids, may change the way the body uses norepinephrine, a hormone that oversees how calories are burned.
