The Many Benefits of Water

Water. It?s the cheapest and most important nutrient of all.

Every system and every cell in your body relies on water to operate properly. Although you might live for a couple of months without food, you can only go about 3 days without water. And water is absolutely essential for processing the nutrients from food for absorption and assimilation.

Two thirds of your entire body is made up of water. Your brain is ? water, your bones ? , muscles ? and your blood is close to 85% water. My goodness, you?re practically a sponge!

So, are you drinking enough? I doubt it. The vast majority of people rely on coffee, tea, soda, fruit juice and alcohol for their liquid refreshment. That?s a mistake. Because there?s no substitute for the health benefits of 8 to 10 daily glasses of pure clean water.

Let?s just name a few of the positive results you could receive from getting an optimum level of water into your system on a daily basis.

  1. Your brain will think more clearly. This means you?ll make better decisions and operate more effectively. The lack of chronic dehydration (not enough water) can also help protect you from brain problems like Alzheimer?s disease and stroke.
  2. You?ll detoxify more efficiently. It?s impossible for your body to remove waste products and toxins without adequate water. Toxic buildup stresses both your liver and kidneys. Even cancer tumors thrive in a toxic, dehydrated body. Drinking plenty of water flushes the toxins right out of your system and makes you feel much, much better.
  3. It greatly improves both digestion and elimination. Constipation and digestive problems can often be completely alleviated by drinking enough water.
  4. You could lose weight. Many studies show that just by substituting water for all the sodas in a person?s diet, they automatically start losing weight. Water also helps to keep you filled up, so you crave less food and eat fewer calories.
  5. Good hydration can also contribute the following: good healthy looking skin, fewer headaches, less joint pain, more natural energy, protection from heart attacks, less need for medications and a whole list of other health benefits.

So, how?s that for a free way to greatly improve your health? If you don?t like the way your tap water tastes or are concerned about additives, buy yourself a good carbon block water filtration system to fit on your sink. Even then, your water will still be cheap ? and so nutritious!
