Because wheatgrass if so full of nutrients that are beneficial to a healthy lifestyle many people are now consuming it on a regular basis.

Wheatgrass not only contains vitamins, minerals, enzymes, amino acids (which help to build proteins in the body) it also contains large amount of chlorophyll. In fact wheatgrass is 70% chlorophyll. The significance of chlorophyll is that it is similar in structure to Hemoglobin, which in turn plays a vital part in the function of red blood cells in the human body. This results in the blood being able to carry oxygen to the various parts of the body which is vital if a body is to stay fit and healthy. Because of the similarity between Chlorophyll and Hemoglobin, chlorophyll is often commonly known as ?the blood of plant life? and because of its similarity to hemoglobin a human body is able to absorb it easily and help to regenerate and rebuild the blood in our bodies.

Also because it has such a high level of chlorophyll within it, Wheatgrass can also act as a powerful detoxifying product for the liver, body cells, tissue and blood.

You will also find contained within wheatgrass are vitamins A, C, E and K as well B complex vitamins and has 82 out of the 92 minerals that are found in soil, including calcium, magnesium, iron, zinc, potassium, phosphorus and cobalt. All of which help a body to stay healthy. However, the only way to release the nutrients contained in wheatgrass to a digestible form is by juicing.

If you thought that the above nutrients wasn?t enough, wheatgrass also contains various amino acids which help to make protein in the human body. Although you can find protein in meat, fish and eggs etc., unfortunately the body needs to break these down into amino acids before they can begin building protein. Wheatgrass provides the body with the protein building blocks (amino acids) without having to use up energy in breaking the proteins ingested down into the building blocks. As wheatgrass juice is digested raw the amino acids do not have any deficiencies in their structure (unlike meat, fish or eggs which need to be cooked).

In fact evidence shows that one ounce of wheatgrass juice contains equivalent levels of minerals, vitamins and enzymes that would be contained in 2 ? pounds of any other green vegetable juice.
