Spas Worldwide

In today’s fast-moving world, it is even more important than ever to take care of our health. Too little attention is paid to rest and complete relaxation – many people regard their holiday not as a chance to recuperate, rest and contemplate, but spend it even more hectically than their usual everyday life.

Spas worldwideThe idea of special health holiday is not a new one. Spas have flourished since Greek and Roman times – and many of our present-day spas date back to then and continue to operate on the exact same spots. The Europeans have been taking their annual "week’s cure" for many years – in many countries, the national health service contributes toward the cost of the holiday.

The term ‘spa’ today is widely used to describe a vast variety of health-orientated holiday destinations.

Spa holidays can be taken for many reasons. You may want to relax and wind down; pamper yourself, lose weight; get fit; or you may have a medical problem from which you want relief. Spas do not claim to cure illnesses permanently, but they certainly alleviate pain and visitors return in higher spirits, fitter and more relaxed.

In our brochure we feature a wide range of spas from the more traditional in Hungary, to spas in Malta, Spain and the UK concentrating on beauty and relaxation in luxurious surroundings. There are thalassotherapy centres, specialising in seawater treatments in France, Portugal and Ireland or you will find spas with healing thermal waters in Germany, Austria and Italy. If you particularly want to unwind and de-stress, spas in Jordan, Switzerland, and Italy, offer a relaxing break in beautiful surroundings away from the madding crowd. If you would like to lose a few inches then the spas in Italy, Austria, and France offer comprehensive diet programmes. For some sunshine, why not try Cyprus, Malta or Portugal, and for a more exotic destination, we offer an exclusive spa in South Africa or a healthy retreat in Bali or Lombok. And then again, there is the opportunity to have Ayruveda treatments in Southern India. For a short break, The UK, Switzerland, France, Italy or Spain are all ideal for pampering weekend away.

There are spas to suit all requirements as well as all budgets. Whichever type of spa you choose, we are confident that your holiday will be both health-restoring and enjoyable and that you will return home full of energy and renewed vigour.

Erna Low have acted as agents for spas since 1979 and are the leading specialists in the UK promoting a large variety of spas worldwide. Departure dates are completely flexible (last minute bookings a speciality) and can be tailored to any length of stay. We look forward to discussing your requirements.
