Endometriosis
The National Endometriosis Society
In 1981 a self-help group for women with
endometriosis was set up. It grew rapidly, and now the National
Endometriosis Society is the only UK charity devoted exclusively to this
disease.
The Society has three primary objectives:
- to promote services for the relief of
women with endometriosis and their families who are in need
- to advance the education of the
general public, and especially those in the medical or similar
professions, concerning the causes, effects and treatment of
endometriosis and other related conditions
- to promote study and research work
into endometriosis and related conditions and publish the results of
all such study and research
We are a registered charity (No 1035810)
and a company limited by guarantee (No 2912853) which is governed by a
Board of Trustees. Members of the Board are women with personal experience
of endometriosis and clinicians.
