Action on Pre-Eclampsia
(APEC)
Action on Pre-eclampsia (APEC) is a UK charity set up
in 1991 to inform and educate members of the public and health
professionals about the common and dangerous pregnancy complication pre-eclampsia,
to support affected families and to promote relevant medical research. We
produce information leaflets for pregnant women, posters for antenatal
clinics and comprehensive information packs for affected families and
health professionals. We operate a telephone helpline (open for three
hours every weekday morning on 080
8427 4217) and a linked befriending service.
We organise regular study days for
midwives and we offer membership services, including a thrice-yearly
newsletter.
