Women’s Health

The vision of Women’s Health is to ensure that every woman has access to the information and support she needs to make appropriate choices.

The aim of Women’s Health is

  • To ensure that health information is available to all women, particularly those who have difficulty accessing information and services.
  • To provide this information in a confidential, supportive and non-judgemental way.
  • To focus on those women’s sexual and gynaecological health issues which are not adequately covered by existing groups.
  • To support self-help and the sharing of experiences among women and to affirm women’s own experiences.

Women's Health provides a free and confidential telephone helpline service
on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays on 020 7251 6580 between 10am and 4pm.

Postal and email enquiries are also welcome. Women's Health also produces a
range of women's health information leaflets and factsheets - contact the
organisation for a publications list.

Positively WomenPositively Women logo
Positively Women was established in 1987 by a small group of women who were diagnosed HIV+. At the time there were no services set up specifically for women, so they put out adverts letting people know who they were . They received a good response and a support group was formed providing a safe space for women to talk openly about the challenges they faced. Today, the organisation remains strongly committed to the ethos of peer support and empowerment.

Positively Women is the only national registered charity to provide peer support – support for HIV positive women by HIV positive women. We empower women with HIV and AIDS to live healthier, longer and more fulfilled lives, by offering services specific to need.

  • Support and Advocacy
  • Information on Treatments
  • Creche facilities and therapeutic services for children affected by HIV
  • Direct services to women living with HIV and their children are led and provided by women living with HIV.
