Allergies

Dr M Collins founded MedicAlert® in 1956 and his wife Chrissie after their daughter almost died following an allergic reaction to the horse serum used in a routine anti toxin test. From this small beginning the Foundation grew worldwide and was brought into the UK by the Lions Clubs in 1964.

For those of you that are unaware, MedicAlert® is a non-profit making registered charity that provides emergency medical identification to people with hidden medical conditions. We are supported in the U.K. & Ireland by the Lions Clubs. We supply our members with either a bracelet or necklet which is engraved with the wearer’s main medical condition, a personal ID number and a 24-hour emergency telephone number which can access their details from anywhere in the world. We have multi-lingual translators on hand to assist at all times. It is estimated that 1 in 3 people in the UK have a hidden medical condition that warrants the use of our life-saving system.

We are currently celebrating our 36th anniversary. We have over 200,000 members here in the UK and over 4 million members worldwide.

Prices start at just £19.95 with a £10.00 annual membership fee. Membership can be obtained over the telephone by calling FREEPHONE 0800 581420.
