The liposuction is a process of removing fat surgically from a specific body area. Potentially, the liposuction can be done on any body parts: thighs, knees, breasts, buttocks, arms, back and other areas having extra fat and which can be corrected by the liposuction. The abdomen is the most common part people want to have fixed.

Women usually get the liposuction on the abdomen, chin, hips and thighs. Men do the liposuction surgery to reduce the size of their stomachs.

The liposuction can be used as a treatment not only for the stomach and abdominal area; it can be done on several areas simultaneously, for example, on the stomach, thighs, and breasts in the same day.

The development of liposuction gives an opportunity of modifying people looks in a fashion style without being on diets for months and working out in gym. The liposuction makes it possible to have a body you want for the money you pay for it.

The liposuction is usually performed by plastic surgeons or dermatologists, although an authorized physician can also do the liposuction. Professional physician associations highly recommend taking special training in the liposuction; however, standardized training is not required.

Before having the liposuction you have to verify if your doctor has had specialized training, and if he or she has a record of the successful liposuction operations. However, there is always a risk that the liposuction can go with complications. People with heart and lung diseases, poor blood circulation and diabetes, or after resent surgery have a higher risk of having complications. In such cases you must inform your physician of any exiting medical conditions.

After the liposuction fat is permanently removed, therefore doctors mainly recommend the liposuction to excessively overweight people. The liposuction surgery helps to remove large amounts of fat over several sessions. Up to six liters of pure fat can be removed during each session.

The liposuction helped many people to get into a healthier life much easier raising the self-esteem and well-being at the same time.

As a form of cosmetic surgery the liposuction is one of the safest forms which performed regularly. It requires only the local anesthetic application.

People of all ages can have the liposuction, but older patients do not obtain the same convalescence results as young, as their skin is less elastic and slower to recover.

If you are seriously considering the liposuction then you should know what this process involves. It is important to understand what you are going to experience, even if you are afraid of emergency rooms and faint from blood. Also you have to agree to all required treatments.

The liposuction usually involves the following: the surgeon makes a cut in the liposuction area then inserts a vacuum tool pushing and pulling the fat until it is lose enough to be suctioned out. When the surgery is finished the elastic garment is placed around the liposuction area. After the operation patients are asked to rest for first few days and refrain from effort making activities for several months. Doctors usually prescribe pain killers with the antibiotic treatment to reduce the risk of infection. After the liposuction patients do not suffer considerably. However, you should know that pills reduce the pain but do not eliminate it completely.
