Kalahari is the desert in the south of African continent. This is the land of many prehistoric tribes. These tribes have established glib relationship with the nature. The existence of these tribes in extreme climate of desert is the proof of this thing. Nomadic tribes go on hunting in the desert without any sufficient food and water; the sole companion on which they rely in this hardship is Hoodia. This is a succulent plant of Apocynaceae family, which can suppress the diet efficiently. Because of its resemblance with cactus so many times it is confused as cactus. Tribes of Kalahari Desert for curing tuberculosis, diabetes, hypertension, indigestion, abdominal cramps, hemorrhoids etc also used this panacea.

Brain is the part of the body, which receive signal from all other parts of the body, after receiving signals it gives necessary instructions to the other body parts. When you are empty stomach the signals received by nervous system from muscles and transmitted to the brain. Hoodia acts smartly, it increases the quantity of glucose in the blood. This is done with a speed 100,000 times faster than the natural glucose. Brain is befooled and it stops secretion for further digestive juices, hence there will be no urge for food. Once consumed, Hoodia?s effect remains for about 24 hours.

There are many types of Hoodia plant, but for medicinal purpose Hoodia is extracted from Hoodia Gordonii, which is a species of Hoodia plant. Phytopharm firstly understood the medicinal value of the plant and got the license for developing the drug in 1995. Later on its sub-license was shared by Pfizer but due to some reasons it returned the license. Presently, Phytopharm and Unilever are developing the drug. The extract of Hoodia Gordonii plant, which is used for drug making, is known as P57. The drug is available in the form of tablet, capsule and health drink.

Natural medicines never give side effects; Hoodia the extract from nature is also free from any side effect. Drug containing caffeine and ephedra can deteriorate health but Hoodia does not contain any such thing. The best part of Hoodia is it can provide the user a proper shape without joining any gym and without balancing diet.

Hoodia is a non-prescriptive drug but it is advisable to consult with your doctor before starting the use of this drug. Hoodia?s effect on pregnant women is not studied thoroughly, however no harmful effect till the date has been reported. But, for the precautionary measure doctor?s advice must be followed strictly when you are a pregnant women or breast feeding lady and planning to use Hoodia.

Dosages of Hoodia are large in quantity, for significant result generally 1200mg Hoodia is consumed per day either in solid or in liquid form according to convenience and compatibility to taste. Hoodia is easily available through online order.
