Weight management like weight loss is a matter of choice.
You finally decided to take care of your weight. You made a choice to be healthy, fit and slim. The little secret is to "stick" to this great choice if you really want to lose the extra weight.
Great decision, now you need to remind yourself constantly that you will stick to this decision. You will shred the extra weight and manage your weight permanently. It is your new life style.
Whenever you need some extra help, remember the person you want to be, the healthy person with a great fit and slim body.
Have a picture of yourself in your mind.
Paint in your mind a detailed picture of how you want to look, how you want to dress, how you will be walking and how you will look in a bathing suit. WOW? should be your reaction to this picture. You should smile at your image.
Remember: Please fill the blanks
- You want to weigh ??.
- You want to be slim.
- You want to wear a size ?...
- You want to be healthy.
- You want to be full of energy.
- You want to be confident and enthusiastic.
- You can do anything You choose, but it has to be your choice.
To help you on this journey, you need all the help you can get. It is not easy to lose weight, especially if you have been struggling with it for years like I have. It is not easy to change even if you welcome this change.
We have to struggle with our habits that thought there were here to stay. It can be quite overwhelming unless you have a tactic of your own to deal with them.
That is why reminders are such great helps. I like to have reminders almost everywhere.
In the kitchen I have reminders on the fridge. I write notes on food packages. I write notes by the chopping board. I even wrote a note on the olive oil bottle not to use more than 2 tablespoons at a time. I have reminders on my chopping list. I even have reminders on my desk.
All these reminders have one purpose: to help me make the right choice. The choice that will take me a step forward to my goal: weight management.
For example I like to write on the cookies package: "I want to be fit and slim". When I want a biscuit I only take one biscuit and no more. Sometimes I don't even take one.
The reminder trigger a question: Do I really want this biscuit? The choice is mine. I do not want to deprive myself either. I want to take pleasure in eating a cookie but I do not wish to overindulge myself either. I do not want to feel guilty; I want to enjoy every bite.
I have reminders on my schedule to shop for appropriate foods and to prepare in advance for the next meal.
Why not try to write some reminders of your own, reminders that will have a special meaning for you.
