INTRODUCTION:In our modern world,to look fit and healthy is more demanded in compare to the past.As an index of success, one might look at others not only in the amount of their wealth, but also in their amount of health. To seek one of these aspects of health, one is relied upon the physical fitness.Comparing the height and the weight and provide a balancing physical image which is every one`s wish to have. There have been so many different alternations to reach such goals.

Surgical and non-surgical thoughts are two modalities in most weight reduction issues.Discuss each one `s views and compare both edges of goodness versus their badnesses, are highly crucial prior to any decision made.

SURGICAL WEIGHT REDUCTIONS:As one can imagine, surgical approach is holding to any types of invasive operative approach in aim of weight reduction.Surgical approaches such as Gastric Bypass;Gastic Partitioning and Lap-Band approaches are commonly used. Each types should be tabulated for each individual patient and not be the same procedures to be implemented for all. If one overweighted individual has tried so hard within at least past five years with no happy results, having a Body Mass Index(BMI) greater than 40,and /or at least have a 100 lb of excess body weight ,might look at surgical alternatives.Having a complete check-ups including Laboratory,EKG,CXR and an Upper Gi Series are also to be considered in parallel.Assessing any other underlying systemic diseases such as bearing any psychological, cardiovascular ,pulmonary, endocrine and mostly gastro-intestinal anomalies must be completely evaluated.Intra and post operative complications such as wound infections, dehiscenses ,fat embolisms and anesthetic side effects are discussed in complete accoringly.Motivations to follow changing habits in nutritional and exercise activities are checked for certainity.

NON_SURGICAL WEIGHT REDUCTIONS:If one is mildly (BMI 21-30) or moderately(31-40) overweight, think should be directed non-surgically first ,to solve the problem .This requires a professional team consultations approach for diets as well as a regular exercises regimen in proceed.Non-surgical way, eliminates all the mentioned complications in surgical routes. Is much more safer and more predictable way of weight loss.Needs assiduousness and persuasiveness to reach such optimal goals. Is a worthfull way , since in this way ,one is actually by-passing a non-reversible and sometimes fatal side effects.Specially those who have psychotic problems and or are consuming too much of nicotine, alcohol and other drugs ,are usually poor candidates for such surgical therapeutic modality.Chronic sever diseases of cardiovascular, pulmonary, endocrinopathies such as thyroid malfunctionings are also red lights for solving weight loss, surgically.
