Sleep disorders are common these days. Without good sleep, one cannot start his next day refreshed. When eyes did not close meeting with pillows, you have to do something to make it happens! Choosing soothing colours for your room, burning scented candles and playing soft music will nursed you to good sleep.

According to Ayurveda, sleep is one of the supporting pillars of life. It is critical to good health and well being. A perfect sleep is achieved when a tired mind is totally disconnected from the sense. According to Indian scriptures, the ideal time for rest is from 10 pm to 4 am in the morning. To have a good night sleep, do not take afternoon naps, except in summers. One should get up at the same time everyday!

It is possible to get more out of your sleep than you imagined. Tuck a special blend of Tibetan herbs among your pillows so as to inhale the scent while sleeping. Each herb is blend for a specific purpose. The dream pillow enhances awareness and sensitivity, sharpens memory, strengthens the body and stimulates clairvoyance in dreams. You can also use the pillow with 16 different herbs mixing together to energise, increase stamina and generate desire.

It is believed that stones, gems, crystals and minerals help in the sleep. These have an effect on dreams, insomnia and nightmares. Amethyst is good for relaxed sleeps. The violet of this stone represents the dusk-coloured sky, transition between night and day and between physical conscious and unconsciousness. These stones increase one?s intuition and fend off psychic attacks and converts negative to a positive energy.

According to some yoga gurus, deep sleep is possible only if there are no energy blockages. Always practice yoga nidra and shav asana before sleeping. Dip your feet in warm water, rubbing with mustard oil on the back side of the knees and soles of feet for two-three minutes. Wipe with clean water and see the outcomes of your sleep.

Make sure that your bed and bedroom are comfortable. It should be too hot, cold or noisy. Mattresses should be so firm that your hips and shoulders are under pressure or so soft that your body sags. If you can?t sleep, get up and do something you find relaxing, like reading, watching TV or listening to light music softly.

Do not go without sleep for a long time. Always stick to a routine of getting up at the same time every day. Avoid drinking tea or coffee by mid afternoon. You can prefer to have a hot mil or herbal in the evening. Alcohol may help you sleep, but you will almost certainly wake up during the night.
